I got a letter this week from a government agency that was informing me of the restrictions that I have as a pastor in the political process. I am not allowed to use the stage or my influence to sway peoples votes. Interesting how scared the government is when it comes to christian influence. I did vote today and I can say that I voted the only thing that matters to me and that is Godly values and morals. I got in a debate with a “christian” who said it is stupid to vote for morals because it is not the governments job to uphold morals that we should vote for the economy, war, taxes, and all that jazz. The first thought that came to my mind was you can not serve God and money. The way I voted was morals first and then everything else secondary. I think if we seek first the kingdom and HiS righteousness then He will add the secondary issues. Well, because I cannot tell you who my vote went to, I thought I can tell you why I voted the way I did. BLESS YOU ALL and get out there and vote!

I like your approach. it seems that the government has been legislating (and the judiciary has been deciding by case law) morals for years now.
Not to vote on morals is to ignore what the people you select are going to base their decisions on.

That’s ridiculous, why the hell did they say you can’t say anything about it due to your influence when that’s EXACTLY what politicians do is use their influence? What happened to freedom of religion? Where on earth does it say in the constitution or the law that you cannot do that?

Drew I understand your frustration. Man what is important is people to know truth and for churches and leaders to hit the issues and then people will know who to vote for.

Have you ever felt like you just don’t fit in?

Hey Drew Aaron is correct. Politicians don’t have to fear loosing their tax exemption status or their membership. The government believes in the separation of Church and State even though we have a different view. There have been several churches loose their exemption status with the IRS over this issue and then members get upset and leave that church, so you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t. Go figure!
