The music was more than okay! I love it when you bring the old school back. You've still got it!

I'm loving this series. It's building our foundation for sure!

Hey man….Good word….When you study the truth you know when the false jumps up and hits you in the face….

Pastor, I really enjoyed the music this week…..you and the rest of the worship team did an awesome job, as always. Just gotta say…I'm really "diggin'" diggin' in. Both the 'To Be Continued' and the 'Vintage Jesus' series have challenged my perspective lately about who Jesus is as my Master, my Savior, my Friend, and as God. I'm constantly reminded of how finite my own understanding is. But, I am so grateful for how the Lord renews my mind and adds small bits of knowledge and wisdom to my LONG list of gifts received by Him. I love being a part of LCC and having the opportunity to sit under these teachings!!! :-)

Deb, Thank you very much. I just think kyle and the guys are soooo good and I am out of touch with the guitar and all that jazz… but thanks!!! I am really learning a lot also. I think this series in both the gathering and in the connection groups is so vital. God is good!

Hey PA I had this thought after reading a bit of the Vintage Jesus and studying a bit before group. I feel as though we are these old officers in the military and we are having to go through boot camp all over again, because we have lost site of our mission. We are getting proper preparation and getting back to the basics for effective battle, getting ready to tell people simply about Jesus. Which this is becoming more than just basic stuff, it has burned up the false pictures mentally I have had about Jesus.
Studying and reading Vintage Jesus, and reading the word has really opened my eyes to see how fascinating Jesus is and why the heck I have not really dug in and studied about him more. This is amazing stuff, and I can't wait for group tonight.

Now all things [are] of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore [you] on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin [to be] sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 cor 5;18-21

I Kept hearing this scripture this week when you were teaching and haven't been able to put it down. I think its so clear here what we are saved for and what our walk with Christ is all about. I keep trippen out about "As though God were pleading through us." The image of God pleading through me, really yanks my focus in a different direction…… Pleading. Yicks

My group went pretty good tonight. When it was the opening prayer time, a few people said that they had nothing to pray about so it set the tone for a challenging night. I sarcastically asked when anti abortion laws happened and the whole world came to Christ, quit getting drunk and smoking weed. This set the tone for a night of maturity and a call to do far more than what we are doing now. As we went through the notes, it was encouraging, but yet convicting to see that Jesus was a real person too who went through the same temptations we did. the same problems. the biggest difference is how he handled those problems, which is where we as humans all fall short. but it is encouraging knowing that the same spirit that empowered Jesus Also empowers us.

Group last night was awesome! The ladies are really digging into this study of Jesus and we are all learning so much. It seems like everyone had a hard time picturing Jesus in his humanity, hanging out with friends, telling jokes, eating food, being sad, laughing, etc. It was easier for them to picture him as this untouchable deity who sorted of floated through life with a halo of light around his head rather than a masculine carpenter who did guy things and experienced life. So important to challenge our minds to explore all of the amazing facets of who Jesus is! Looking forward to what next week holds. God is so faithful to reveal Himself to us when we seek Him!

Jesus is so amazing. In studying out Vintage Jesus I quickly, along with the rest of the group, realized that we viewed him more as God and not so much as a man described by Driscoll. Wednesday the guys seemed to change perspective a bit in learning that Jesus was completely and all human AND completely God. We also spent some time reviewing the time when Jesus healed the paralytic and how Jesus stopped everything he was doing and was inspired by this man's faith that he healed him. The guy didn't even have to repent or asked to be healed and Jesus "a man" through the Holy Spirit healed the guy. Amazing stuff. I am also inspired with one guy in the group who asked "what else do I need to study?" I wanted to just say everything, but I pointed him to read the book of Mark and to since he was interested in Paul, pointed him towards Acts. I challenged the group also with considering what we are passionate about comparing to the passion that Jesus had.
