Am I not accepted if I am not on twitter?

This is a question sent in by twitterless on the “Ask Aaron Anything” link:

I’m not that computer savvy nor do i spend all day in front of one. My question is: If I’m not really getting this twitter thing or it’s something I’ve never done, is this going to hinder me from being plugged in or accepted with everyone if I’m not that active on here?

My Answer:

Great question.  I hope not!!!  To me twitter, facebook, myspace, and all of the social platforms are a great way to keep up with real relationships and make new ones, but I would never want them to replace the authentic face to face relationships.  So if you are not a computer person then just focus on using your phone, meeting in coffee shops, hanging out at home with people.  We will use technology to our advantage but let’s not mistake that we believe in real face-to-face relationships.

I would hope this is not a question stemming from deeper rejection.  If you are not on twitter you are not being rejected but you may feel rejected because of something deeper and I hope that you know that no one is trying to leave you out because they enjoy twitter.  We desire at life connection church real relationships deeper then technology but centered around Jesus and love for others so if you are feeling like you do not have that please contact me in person and we will do what we can to connect you relationally.
