I,ve been tuning in to the wrap ups for the last couple weeks. It sounds like good things are happening. I just never felt part of it all even though I was a part in spirit and in prayer. Just didn't make the earth connection like I needed to! Keep up the good work! I love the Word God has placed in you!

P.A., this Sunday's message was great! I've found myself having such renewed and refreshed joy about the name of Jesus since we've started the Vintage Jesus series- each new day my passion for his name has been growing, though at the same time, each new day the difficulty to pursue understanding has been increasing. The message you spoke really roused the passion to press in even more- not only for the sake of my knowledge of the truth, but also for the sake of God's elect, and their knowledge of the name of Jesus. Thnks Bro! Love ya man.

Group this week was really really important and good. There was even admission at the end from someone that as a matter of just passive knowledge he always assumed the resurrection was spiritual only and not physical. I so appreciated that honesty because we can't afford passive understanding of the cross and the resurrection. Without truth in those things our faith fails and scripture says we are to be pitied more than all men, our faith is dead, we are liars and dead in our sin. In short, we have nothing without the resurrection.

It's so important that we believe in the resurrection as a matter of faith AND fact. Discussing the disciples change in behavior, the explosive growth in the early church and doctrinal changes(baptism, communion, worshipping Jesus) and liturgical changes(day of worship change) in the church was really crucial to our understanding of how BIG of a deal the resurrection was. It literally split time in half, there's no other event in history that comes close to was Jesus did on the 3rd day.

Can't wait for Easter. (Although I have a lot of stuff to finish before then so I'd appreciate it if time slowed down)

Great testimony kyle. This stuff is so important to our life and faith. Thanks for all the work you have done on this series.

    Thanks Jon,
I was so encouraged by what happened sunday. Jesus is being made even more real to me.

Our Monday group was awesome, too. It's interesting how there can be a temptation to "discuss" something that only serves as distraction. There is fact to wrestle with when it comes to the resurrection, and this Vintage Jesus chapter set it out. Love it! And Sunday's sermon on the Lamb of God – so cool! I am one of the oldies who loved singing that hymn. I love the fullness of Jesus – He is the spotless sacrificial Lamb, and the returning Lion of Judah!

I'm actually on my way to group, so don't have a comment about that just yet….but my comment is more about the worship service Sunday. I know Kyle said he wasn't happy about it because of some technical issues. I guess I'm one of those people that never catch those, though, because once again….i didn't notice that. In fact, I got a little bit…just a little bit…carried away in the worship. I don't know if I felt worse for the people behind me who had to watch me…..or the people in front of me who had to hear me. I apologize if I distracted you in any way……………..and if I did, you can just about bet it willl happen again! :-)

And………I'm not going to put my name because I don't want anyone to check and see if I get all goofy again next week! :-)

I felt the same way. I loved the time of music. What a blessing! I will keep an eye out for the crazy worshipper. LOL. Keep worshipping Jesus!

Group was great. One of my favorites. We had a new guy and some really great side discussions. Really hit home (with Bible vrs) grace. That we are saved by grace alone, and not by works. Then going into why we work…
Then even some testimonies from others about this. It was really good. I think the review and overlap of the information about the cross/Jesus is not boring or repetitive but is seeming to get more concrete and sinking into the guys better.

  8. Suzee Lind says

I think the main thrust and point that really hit home was the change in the disciples post=resurrection! At that point all the Disciples went from confused, scared, refugees to empowered men who literally died for the faith! All of us in group agreed we wanted that boldness. We talked discussed the importance of recognizing the power of Jesus being ALIVE! It was also pretty cool, because Gina brought a new girl who had no idea that Jesus actually rose from the dead physically…A little truth goes a long way!

I loved group this week! What a miracle the resurrection is! We were blown away by all the evidence. There is fact and faith! And the transformation in the disciples? To know that in the resurrection it is a physical representation of our old lives being buried and being saved from our sins. The resurrection means NEW LIFE! In Jesus. Its so exciting! – and on another note it is so amazing the community that is within our connection group. To share our lives and pray/fight together for/laugh/cry with….just DO LIFE is SUCH a blessing.

"All of the evidence there is about the resurrection, how can anyone not believe". That is what we kept saying at group. We talked about how studying out this chapter and now knowing all the evidence really makes our faith in Jesus that much stronger.

Welp, I had one of those weeks where i thought i was totally trying to get as much out of the lessons as possible for my girls and in all reality I was getting as much out of it as possible for me. (God just hadn’t showed me that yet.) Allot of people in our group couldn't make it but it didn't change the fact that sitting there in the middle of Wildflower GOD showed up and brought revelation that even still this morning im trying to get the fullness of. I can't believe how really real and huge the last two weeks of studies has been. My perspective of Jesus was so intentionally water down for my own comfort of his pain that these last two studies totally replaced any understanding that i had of what Jesus did for me on the cross and rising again entailed. I am left speechless as to what lengths he would go to not only to show us his love, but further more his commitment for us. We sat there the three of us, i think all in complete bewilderment to Jesus. I love this study, I can't wait for my next opportunity to speak of what He did for us. I think even everything i understood about the cross before doesn't hold a candle to my revelation now. I know that the revelation i have now is one that can only be given to me by God, my Father. Its no longer a amazing story that someone did for me that i believe. But a knowing in my spirit, soul, mind of our GOD who is and was and always will be.

Suzee we were just as amazed by the before and after. That before Jesus came back from the died all the disciples saw was in the flesh (they hadn't gotten the holy spirit yet). all they saw was the man they had dedicated their life to was died, But when Jesus came to them alive and found them that's when the power or the holy spirit was revealed and they had revelation that surpassed anything the had seen before that moment. They had Gods power to endure now.

I love that the disciples coward in the room despite all they had seen, when their revelation was in only their flesh, they forgot the realness of who Jesus was. they felt alone and scared. But upon seeing, feeling touching Jesus they were filled with Revelation of the spirit and the power of God that goes beyond any human understanding. How often do i forget what i have already seen, felt touched known and revert back to my fleshly understanding, Rather then standing in the boldness of the holy spirit holding tight for him to impart what he has for me. there are so many lessons in that one part of the account of our savor.

Group this week was great, we had some ladies come back that haven't been for a while so that was awesome. As we discussed Jesus' resurrection it became so clear how central and vital it is to our faith, a revelation that some of the ladies hadn't had before. We also went into what it means to our daily walk that Jesus is alive and risen and spent some time in Romans 6:1-14 – read the whole thing, it's such great stuff! here is a piece of that scripture:
Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
We can live in freedom because of Christ's death and resurrection!

  15. Mark Rohl says

Group was great this week. After looking at the facts that go along with our faith about the resurrection of Christ we broke into a great time of discussion about how, because of the risen King, we can now walk into the freedom only realized through the cross. Thank you Lord for your life giving resurrection.

  16. Mel says

Group was EXCITING!! After the lesson which was mostly just reading scripture after scripture cuz that is really all we needed to say….we then discussed each point and tied them all together and at that point all of our minds and spirits were just going crazy with excitement, God was just revealing so much, we kept saying "oh my gosh then this happened which tied back to this which led to this…." Everything that Jesus did was so purposeful. Even in saying to Mary when she found the empty tomb in Mark to go and tell the disciples, "and Peter," what had happened. Then in Luke, Mary goes and tells all the disciples but none of them believe her, except for Peter and he goes running. Jesus knew that Peter would go. Then we went on to discuss all the disciples responses to the resurrection and that it led them to not waiver again in their faith and proclamation, and Paul, wow Paul, that is an amazing testimony! The resurrection is definitely a point of faith but fact as well, FACT! lets not ever forget that! If talking about the resurrection doesn't get you excited and giddy your missing it!
