I cant see you bombing a sermon. Pastor you have an anointing to speak. I'll have to listen.

Bro I thought you handled an incredibly challenging text great. Handling this text in 1hr is daunting, but I think it was really encouraging to the body. I thought you addressed well the content and I think we need to support you in delivering and teaching this to the body in our groups and in our blogs.

Connection Group leaders have their work cutout for them, especially those of us who have our groups today :-) But I thought the body responded well and you did a great job. You're incredibly gifted so when you're off, you're still on and Jesus was magnified, no doubt about it.

Pastor Aaron, you delivered a good message- I actually quite enjoyed the entire sermon bro. All of which you were capable of presenting within your limited time frame was convicting, inspiring, and directed me to a desire to want to articulate better the doctrine of predestination. What Paul wrote about to the church of Ephesus makes me excited for these next weeks to come. Don't be down on urself dude, the body really did respond well- you gave a good and refreshing blend of doctrine, emotion, explanation, and the word 'Poop'… ;)

I think everyone understood where you were going, but I wanted to point out was the way you answered the questions. I loved it. Not only did it bring more light to the entire sermon, but it was very humbling to see you actually admitt you really don't know the full answer and you can try to explain it all day but it would drive you crazy.
I think too many people today think that by looking to their pastors, they can find all the answers to life and God. It's not possible and everyone has their own journey. Thanks PA =)

Group went good on Monday, lots of listening, not as many questions as I'd though. One thing the group could relate to was it's easier to be at peace with election when you have a totally jacked up testimony, i.e you need no convincing you were a completely lost and disgusting sinner. But religious people who've lead a "good" life at least morally and church attendance wise have a harder time believing in election because they feel that doesn't take into account all the good stuff they did. That at some level they've earned it.

We can't get anywhere on election unless we agree on the nature of sin and ourselves as totally depraved. If you misunderstand sin and don't believe in total depravity(you know, what the bible teaches) than there's no point in discussing election because you think there's some good part in you that earned God's grace, which by definition is an oxymoron…earned grace.

I have to say… this comment gave me some great comfort. That is very true. For him who has been forgiven much loves much. When you see all that has been forgiven you response is not confusion just love. Thanks!

Tonight was really good. I think we all had some different views of salvation before this teaching. It was His plan from the beginning of time to redeem and bring us back to a place of being blameless and holy before Him for His pleasure. At first we think it's our "good works" that allows grace to be bestowed on us, WRONG. We've been blessed with every spiritual blessing, chosen before the foundations of the world, and IN LOVE predestined to be adopted. Wow that is totally not possible for man to accomplish in himself, only by the grace of God, and it's something to be excited about, Salvation is not boring or some light conversation with people, it should be lively. Being raised in church my whole life I can clearly see the proposed work of salvation as being just a simple prayer and then live life of "good works" to solidify my spot in heaven. If I hadn't received the revelation of God's plan of redemption through salvation, I would've missed having the joy of my salvation.

This week while Lonnie was working a co-worker said to him "hey it's religious Lonnie" "how come John calls you that?" " Is it because you talk about Jesus all the time?" Lonnie replied "yes." the co-workers response "ok then how come you haven't talked about Jesus to me?" Lonnie was floored, but because of what was preached on Sunday about God's grace and not religion ("good works") that saves us, Lonnie was able to witness and give an answer for what he believes in. I was encouraged that he took that step of not backing down or getting offended by someone making comments like that to him. He plans on inviting the co-worker and family over for some dinner, so pray that God's grace will illuminate his co-workers heart.

Group was a little more challenging that normal tonight. We decided to heed to your quote – Try to explain election and you lose your mind, but try to explain it away you lose your soul. – Very fitting. There is such an assurance in knowing we were planned for, purchased & preserved. Being chosen, adopted are mind blowing that he would even want us. We talked about grace alot. I love how in the election definition a part of it says that we are the "objects of mercy and subjects of grace." His mercy & grace is limitless. We have this every morning when we wake up. It never runs out. Unfathomable. I'm really excited to be diving into Ephesians, it is one of my favorite books! :)

Group was great this week. Lots of good questions and discussion about God's amazing grace and how incredible it is that He chooses to adopt us as His own. Glady's had a really cool revelation about being adopted by God through Christ and that now as she is being raised by Him she gets to take on His family traditions, heritage and inheritance. Although she has "birthparents" her real Father is the Lord and He is the one who is raising her up as His daughter. God was faithful to work in our feeble minds to give us small bits of revelation on this challenging topic. God's Grace is truly amazing!

Suzee and I were actually so excited about how our group went this week. We are seeing some great growth in our Ladies!! And although this might have been a confusing week, I was so proud of how our ladies really did consider what was brought to the table by PA this week, and they brought some great thoughts and insight on it. It's exciting to see the Holy Spirit just reveal himself and work apart from anything we can say or do as leaders.
