Daddy Date

kq6I got to go on a date today with my 3 year old daughter for her birthday.  We first went to Dunkin’ donuts and she ate a chocolate donut with sprinkles.  Every bite she took was off the top so she could make sure she ate the chocolate.  At one point in the conversation I said “That is a pretty dress who made that for you?”, (knowing that her grandma had made that dress) and she said with no hesitation “God.”  I did not even argue with her because I like that she gave credit to God for a good gift that she loves.  As I was sitting there I realized something:  she is a gift and who made her for me?  With no hesitation I have to say God.  I thought I was going on this date for my daughter to be with her dad and get a dress for her birthday but I think this date was really for me.  What a gift my children are form God.

Psalm 127:3 – Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward

I twittered some pics of my daddy date.

You're a Dailey, all right. My dad used to take us to Dunkin' Donuts for dates on Saturday mornings, too. Just wait till she's a teenager and you can take her to R-rated action movies.

Er, well, just because Uncle Jim did it, doesn't mean you should.

    But you already knew that.
